low latency, when i used to overclock on my x38 platform was offcourse nice, but i found out that increasing the latency to get better clock speeds was in the end more effetive to get higher 3dmark scores

It's better to run RAM at a multiple of bus speed anyway, so unless you OC there's no need to buy more expensive faster RAM. There's also the latency advantage indeed.
